Grounding rod made of copper-plated steel (listed in IEC, UL)

Description

Copper bonded ground rod refers to a solid form of copper-steel composite. The copper layer is made of 99.9% pure copper, and the steel core is made of high-quality carbon structural steel, which forms a composite metal material with high adhesive force. It is mainly used for the vertical grounding electrode in the grounding system, which is used to reduce the grounding resistance and improve the safety of the grounding system.

 :

Tensile strength:

350-770 MPa (for vertical grounding); 290-510 MPa (for horizontal grounding)

Copper thickness:

0.254 mm-0.8 mm (custom order is available)

Ductility of copper layer:

when the product is continuously bent by 90° three times, no cracks will occur on the inner and outer edge copper layer.

Weldability of copper layer:

when the product is placed between the clamp or vice jaws, the distance between which is less than the diameter of the steel core of the sample (W=d-0.1), hit the end of the sample with a hammer, cut off a sufficient layer of copper, completely expose the steel core, the presence of a peeled copper layer on the vice jaws is allowed, but the remaining part of the rod, peeled copper and steel should not be visible to the naked eye.

Electrocorrosion characteristics:

imitation of short-circuit current interruption after electrocorrosion resistance test, the growth rate of the final resistance value does not exceed 50% of the initial resistance value. Moreover, the growth rate of resistance at each stage of the test does not exceed 15% during the test. The surface of the copper-coated steel sample after the test is solid, without cracks, cavities and defects in the form of bubbles.
